As a Life Sciences Equipment Service Technician at STERIS, you will act as a trusted advisor to our Customers in the maintenance and procurement of Life Sciences products, including medical devices and consumables. You will deliver an exceptional Customer experience by providing on-site preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, equipment modification, and installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units in a healthcare environment.

This is a remote-based, customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in Pennsylvania to support and service our Customers in this territory.

What You Will Do As An Equipment Service Technician
  1. Drive Customer satisfaction through proactive communication and resolving issues expediently.
  2. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS and related products safely and efficiently.
  3. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, overhaul, or refurbish standard and special-purpose equipment and components.
  4. Ensure a positive Customer experience by providing timely maintenance, service calls, warranty calls, and minor installations.
  5. Maintain communication with the Area Service Manager regarding activity and sales opportunities.
  6. Identify sales opportunities and recommend STERIS products/services, communicating leads to management and sales staff.
  7. Respond to routine Customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance, and provide on-site support as needed.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required:

  • High School diploma with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including outside normal business hours
  • Residence within 50 miles of the territory center
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push wheeled transporters up to 50 pounds
  • Compliance with hospital/customer credentialing requirements

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechanical, or similar discipline with 1 year of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of GMPs and GLPs

Other:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills
