Headquartered in Austria, with a U.S. subsidiary in Turlock, California, we are expanding across North America.
We are seeking a Field Service Technician (m/f/d) based in Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick, Canada, to join our North American team.
Your Start at Insort:
After comprehensive training on our machines and technologies, both in-house and on-site, you will be instrumental in commissioning, servicing, and supporting our sensor-based sorting solutions.

Responsibilities

  1. Installation & Commissioning: Install and set up Insort’s equipment at customer sites.
  2. Service & Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
  3. Customer Training & Support: Train operators and maintenance staff, providing technical guidance.
  4. Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve issues related to mechanics, sensors, electronics, and software, collaborating with internal teams.
  5. Technical Documentation: Prepare reports on commissioning, service, and performance evaluations.
  6. Field Insights & Feedback: Offer technical input for product development and relay customer feedback to improve equipment.
  7. Remote Support: Assist customers remotely with troubleshooting when not on-site.

Qualifications

  • Education: Technical diploma, college, or university degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related field (asset).
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with equipment manufacturing, field service, optical sorting, or food processing.
  • Hands-on Skills: Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
  • IT Knowledge: Understanding of IT connectivity, remote diagnostics, and software troubleshooting.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for effective customer support and training.
  • Work Ethic: Independent, structured, solution-oriented, with high-quality standards.
  • Team Player: Capable of working independently and collaboratively, sharing knowledge.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willing to travel 40-50% across North America, with occasional trips to Europe for training.

Working Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Overtime and occasional weekends required based on workload.

Job Location: Prince Edward Island or New Brunswick, Canada.

Employment Type: Full-time, remote work position supporting North American customers from home.

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year plus overtime.

Vacation: 15 days paid vacation (3 weeks).
