Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Field Service Technician 1 in Toledo, OH to perform on-site repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance of building products. You’ll interact with customers, follow safety protocols, and ensure high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and 1–2 years in construction or fenestration installation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• 1–2 years of general construction or building material installation experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of fenestration manufacturing or installation experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook & CRM) and proficiency with hand/power tools.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Field Service Technician 1 is responsible for performing on-site repairs, inspections, and maintenance of building products while ensuring safety, quality, and excellent customer service. This role provides hands‑on experience in field operations, process adherence, and customer interaction, with opportunities to develop technical skills, problem‑solving abilities, and industry knowledge. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, physically capable, and committed to delivering reliable service in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Field Repairs & Adjustments: Perform basic field repairs, including hardware and glass replacements, operational adjustments, and product inspections.
• Product Evaluations & Inspections: Conduct on‑site evaluations to assess product performance and identify repair needs.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of glass, working at heights, and use of PPE; maintain and inspect safety equipment and first aid kits.
• Vehicle Operation & Maintenance: Operate company vehicles safely, adhering to local laws, and perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability.
• Inventory Management: Manage tools and supplies inventory to maintain proper stock and organization.
• Customer Service & Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair issues and solutions, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
• Travel: Travel within assigned territory daily; overnight travel may be required depending on territory.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to complete precise repairs and inspections.
• Excellent customer service skills to build trust and ensure repeat business.
• Physical stamina and dexterity; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs consistently, climb ladders, and work at heights.
