Job summary

Kanawha Scales & Systems, LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, calibrate, and service industrial scales across multiple industries. You will travel to client sites, perform calibration procedures, diagnose issues, and perform repairs to ensure accurate measurements and uptime.

Qualifications

• Experience in installing, calibrating, and repairing scales.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and NIST Handbook 44 standards.
• Proficiency with calibration and measurement equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL required.
• AC/DC, MIG welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install industrial, laboratory, and commercial scales per manufacturer specs.
• Perform calibration procedures and adjust settings for precision.
• Maintain and repair scales to minimize downtime.
• Inspect scales for wear and functionality; address load cell and display issues.
• Document service reports and calibration certificates.
• Communicate service requirements, estimates, and technical questions with customers.
• Follow safety protocols around heavy equipment and electrical components.
• Ensure all serviced scales meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Track tools, parts, and equipment; replenish supplies.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and scale technology.
