Job description

Field Service Technician/Industrial Mechanic

Triad Service Center is seeking a qualified Field Technician for service and repair of light industrial equipment in the Trenton, NJ area. Equipment includes floor scrubbers, sweepers, handicapped carts, checkout lanes, paint shakers, and other commercial customer equipment found in large retail or industrial locations. Technicians will also install and service grease containment units used with deep fryers. This position utilizes a company vehicle regionally and requires a valid, good-standing driver’s license.

The position is primarily Monday-Friday, averaging 40 hours a week. Provided are a vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and paid training. Starting pay range is $20-$27.

Technicians' Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:

1. Have strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose, repair, and complete service calls and scheduled preventive maintenance on light industrial equipment.
2. Provide customer service by performing on-location preventive maintenance and repairs.
3. Inspect, test, and listen to machines to locate malfunctions; dismantle parts to detect wear or misalignment.
4. Install new or repaired parts; clean and lubricate machinery components.
5. Organize repairs and preventive maintenance in similar locations when possible; keep records of work orders, parts, and supplies.
6. Submit daily work orders, agendas, parts orders, and all required paperwork; treat company equipment responsibly and follow guidelines.

Additional Information:

• Travel may be up to 300 miles per day.
• Must regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, fumes, chemicals.
• Work primarily Monday through Friday; weekends and after-hours possible with emergency rates; on-call ends at 11 am EST weekends/holidays.
• Observe safety procedures; report unsafe conditions; use equipment properly.
• Maintain excellent attendance; respond promptly to service requests; follow instructions; maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving skills; comply with regulations.
