Field Service Technician/Industrial Mechanic

Triad Service Center is seeking a qualified Field Technician for service and repair of light industrial equipment in the Somerville, NJ area. Equipment commonly worked on includes floor scrubbers, sweepers, handicapped carts, checkout lanes, paint shakers, and other commercial customer equipment found in large retail/industrial locations. Technicians will also install and service grease containment units used in conjunction with deep fryers. This position utilizes a company vehicle regionally and requires a valid, good standing driver’s license.

The position is primarily Monday-Friday, averaging 40 hours a week. Vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and PAID TRAINING are provided.

Starting Pay Range: $20-$27.

Our Technicians' Typical Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:

1. Have strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose, repair, and complete both service calls and scheduled PMs on light industrial equipment.
2. Provide customer service by performing on-location preventative maintenance and repairs.
3. Visually inspect, test, and listen to machines to locate causes of malfunctions; dismantle machine parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other issues.
4. Install new or repaired parts; clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, belts, and other machinery components.
5. Stay organized by scheduling repairs and PMs in similar locations on the same day, as time and location permit. Record keeping and reporting of work orders, parts, supplies, and daily agendas.
6. Submit daily work orders, timecards, parts orders, and all required paperwork. Treat company equipment responsibly and follow PM guidelines for company-provided vehicle.

Additional Information:

• Travel can be up to an average of 300 miles per day.
• The associate must regularly lift/move up to 10-50 pounds and frequently up to 100 pounds.
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risks, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday; weekends and after-hours work may occur with emergency rates. On-call ends at 11 am EST on weekends and holidays.
• Observe safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly.
• Dependability includes excellent attendance, timely service responses, following instructions, and maintaining a valid driver’s license and safe driving skills.
