Field Service Technician - East (Kathabar)

About The Job

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician focused on controls and automation to join our team. This customer-facing role involves solving problems, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining our equipment across various service projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical and automated systems, control panels, and be willing to travel extensively within the US and internationally. This is a fully remote position with a preference for candidates residing in the Eastern US.

Responsibilities
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical control systems, including PLCs, sensors, and actuators.
  • Troubleshoot and repair on-site, diagnosing complex issues.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards through inspections.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Provide training and technical support to customers.
  • Document all service activities accurately and timely.
  • Maintain high customer service standards and effective communication.
  • Travel extensively (75%-85%) across the US and internationally.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree in electrical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of field service experience in mechanical, electrical, or automation industries.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
  • HVAC certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and HMI software preferred.
  • Experience with VFD setup and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Self-motivated, independent worker.
  • Willing to travel extensively.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and move up to 50+ pounds.
  • Climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and standing.
Additional Information
