Job Description

Triad Service Center is seeking a qualified Field Technician for service and repair of light industrial equipment in the Somerville, NJ area. Equipment commonly worked on includes floor scrubbers, sweepers, handicapped carts, checkout lanes, paint shakers, and other commercial customer equipment found in large retail/industrial locations. Technicians will also install and service grease containment units used with deep fryers. This position utilizes a company vehicle regionally and requires a valid, good standing driver’s license.

Position Details

The position is primarily Monday-Friday, averaging 40 hours per week. Vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and paid training are provided.

Starting Pay Range: $20-$27

Technicians' Typical Duties and Responsibilities

1. Have strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose, repair, and complete service calls and scheduled preventive maintenance on light industrial equipment.
2. Provide excellent customer service through on-location maintenance and repairs.
3. Inspect, test, and listen to machines to identify malfunctions; dismantle parts to detect wear or misalignment.
4. Install new or repaired parts; clean and lubricate machinery components.
5. Stay organized by scheduling repairs and preventive maintenance efficiently; maintain accurate records of work orders, parts, supplies, and daily activities.
6. Submit all required paperwork, including work orders, timecards, and parts orders. Handle company equipment responsibly and follow guidelines for company-provided vehicles.

Additional Information

• Travel may be up to 300 miles per day.
• Must regularly lift/move 10-50 pounds and frequently lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Income based on hourly pay, with adjustments for start/end of day commute times.
• Exposure to moving parts, electrical hazards, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Typically Monday-Friday; weekends and after-hours work possible with emergency rates. On-call ends at 11 am EST on weekends and holidays.
• Observe safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly.
• Dependability is essential: excellent attendance, timely responses, following instructions, maintaining a valid driver’s license, and complying with regulations.
