Hourly base pay rate is $26.06 - $39.13/hour. The hourly base rate may vary based on location and candidate qualifications. Position may include additional compensation such as commission or incentives.

Job Description

Fleet Services – A Cox Automotive Company keeps your fleet moving. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Fleet Services is one of the largest fleet maintenance companies nationwide, providing on-site mobile maintenance for light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, along with services at over 50 nationwide service centers. We are hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II.

The Mobile Diesel Technician II performs licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs. They handle diagnostics and repairs under supervision, learning advanced skills over time. A successful technician adheres to company policies and meets performance metrics.

DUTIES:
  1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile environment.
  2. Conduct minor repairs on truck systems such as electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, and mechanical parts.
  3. Diagnose malfunctions using test instruments, road test vehicles, and evaluate problems critically.
  4. Manage parts inventory and perform safety checks on company vehicles.
  5. Communicate effectively with clients and team members, document work, and obtain necessary parts and approvals.
  6. Complete all documentation accurately and maintain productivity standards.
  7. Follow safety regulations and conduct vehicle inspections.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Own a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
  • Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • Must pass DOT physical and background checks; valid driver’s license required.
  • Minimum age 21 due to interstate commerce regulations.

Preferred Certifications: ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, 608/609 (obtained within 18 months).

Skills & Abilities: Strong problem-solving, physical ability to perform labor, effective communication, and logical reasoning skills.
