Job summary

Clean Harbors in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety-conscious team. This role will be active in the field responsible for the performance of tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

The position requires attendance at a two-week paid training Academy (potentially out of state) with expenses covered by the company.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to perform physical functions per job requirements.
• On-call emergencies, weekends/holidays may be required.
• Background check, drug test, and physical required.
• Facial hair must meet OSHA respiratory protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies and procedures.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use a variety of hand tools.
• Wear and use PPE, including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in various temperatures and environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Handle hazardous materials with safe loading/unloading procedures.
• Conduct waste sample collections and calibrate meters.
• Climb ladders/scaffolding, enter tanks/trucks, and work in confined spaces.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis.
• Attend compliance and safety meetings.
