Job summary

Enerflex is seeking a Field Service Technician I in Carlsbad, NM to perform basic to advanced maintenance on gas compression packages. You will learn from senior technicians, diagnose issues, assist with installations, and travel for field work and commissioning.

The role includes on-call emergency repairs, safety compliance, and occasional nights/weekends. Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with CAT/GERP are preferred, with opportunities for growth within Enerflex.

Qualifications

3–5 years applicable experience
Understanding of CAT/GERP and similar OEM software
Experience working on natural gas compressor packages
CAT/Waukesha certifications preferred (e.g., CAT Gas I/II, 3500 ADEM III/IV, 3500ULB/J)
Legal eligibility to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available

Responsibilities

Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, and other paperwork daily
Provide basic leadership and training to new Field Service Technician I and Trainee
Diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently
Assist with installation and commissioning of new units
Perform mechanical inspection with micrometers, gauges, and diagnostic equipment
Troubleshoot electrical systems and control panels (Murphy, Altronic)
Respond to and repair recurring problems and provide emergency services
Travel and be on-call; work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Maintain safety and environmental rules and professional company standards
Represent Enerflex professionally with customers
