Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Field Service Technician I/Field Service Engineer I to join our team and participate in the Apparatus Boot Camp program, with a winter six-week in-person training in Louisville, KY. The program leads to a permanent role with regional assignments and travel.

The candidate will perform testing and repairs on electrical breakers, install switchgear wiring, and document results using PowerDB, while gaining hands-on experience across voltage equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience OR
• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology OR
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
• Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down and refurbishment.
• Install and modify switchgear control wiring.
• Read meters and accurately document readings.
• Read schematics and wiring diagrams for accuracy.
• Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls and faults.
• Test power and current transformers and Power Factor/TTR.
• Document activities using PowerDB consistently.
