Job summary

Qualus Corporation invites you to join its Winter 2027 Engineering Boot Camp as a Power Systems Engineer. You will be immersed in classroom instruction, site visits, and hands-on substation training, with FE exam prep and a pathway to a full-time Engineer I role upon successful completion.

You will perform power system studies, engage with multiple departments across geographies, and contribute to projects involving short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and protection studies.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• Ability to travel 50–70% of the time.
• Educational experience related to medium to high voltage is preferred.
• MS Office proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using SKM, ETAP, or Easypower.
• Apply knowledge of switchgear, MCCs, breakers, panels and disconnects to mitigation solutions.
• Develop study reports and communicate results to customers.
• Perform data collection activities.
• Develop and/or implement arc flash mitigation designs.
• Interpret construction drawing packages.
• Develop relay protective setpoints and settings files.
• Create/ Update equipment control schematics, one-lines and wiring diagrams.
• Support project teams to meet quality and project goals.
• Maintain up-to-date technical skills through training.
