Job summary

Qualus Corporation is seeking motivated Field Service Technician I/Field Service Engineer I in Louisville, KY. Selected new hires enter the Apparatus Boot Camp—a one-year training path with classroom and hands-on learning, mentored by industry leaders. In-person six-week Boot Camp occurs each winter in Louisville, KY.

Boot Camp begins January 2027; the start date may adjust if graduation dates differ. All offers are permanent positions with a regional reporting location upon successful

Qualifications

• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with field work and customer interactions is a plus.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and using meters is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers (Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, Timing tests).
• Carry out mechanical work and repairs on breakers (tear down, refurbishment, parts replacement).
• Install and modify switchgear control wiring.
• Utilize and read meters accurately.
• Read schematics and wiring drawings.
• Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls.
• Test power/current transformers including Power Factor and TTR.
• Document activities in Power DB.
