Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Field Service Technician I/Field Service Engineer I to support electrical apparatus testing, installation, and repair in field environments. The role includes participation in the Apparatus Boot Camp training program with in-person sessions in Louisville, KY, followed by permanent placement with a regional reporting location after boot camp.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read company manuals and reports; speak with poise and confidence in English.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to perform physically demanding field work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers (Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, Timing).
• Carry out mechanical work and repairs on breakers (tear down, refurbishment, parts replacement).
• Install and modify switchgear control wiring.
• Use meters and read schematics/wiring drawings accurately.
• Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls.
• Test power and current transformers (Power Factor, TTR).
• Document work accurately using Power DB.
