Job summary

Cooper Machinery Services is seeking a Field Service Technician I to support installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and commissioning of reciprocating compression equipment at customer sites. You will work with experienced field professionals to build foundational competencies and advance along Cooper’s field service career path.

You'll travel roughly 80% to customer locations, learn to read OEM manuals, use hand tools and torquing devices, and uphold safety, quality, and customer

Qualifications

• Foundational mechanical skills and ability to use basic hand tools safely.
• Willing to travel ~80% and work at customer locations.
• Comfortable reading manuals and following detailed instructions.
• Able to perform basic math including fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and commissioning of reciprocating engines and compressors at customer sites.
• Assist experienced technicians with preventive maintenance, minor repairs, equipment rebuilds, and overhaul activities.
• Develop proficiency in safe use of hand tools, torque devices, and field equipment.
• Learn to use OEM manuals to identify parts, procedures, tolerances, and specifications.
• Record inspection and maintenance information accurately in required documentation.
• Monitor equipment condition and assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, quality, customer service, and continuous technical development.
