Job summary

Quest International is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician I to support customer locations throughout the Detroit area and surrounding territory.

You will spend a significant amount of time traveling to customer sites to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technical equipment. Overnight assignments and overtime may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on field service, equipment repair, electronics, or related technical experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment to component level.
  • Experience using a digital multimeter and following manuals/diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Verify equipment operation after repairs and complete service documentation.

Field Service Technician I – Detroit, MI

Quest International | Detroit, MI | Field-Based Travel Technician

Pay: $24.00–$29.00 per hour, plus overtime
Job Type: Full-time, temp-to-hire
Travel: Up to 80%, including overnight travel

About the Role

Quest International is hiring a hands‑on Field Service Technician I to support customer locations throughout the Detroit area and surrounding territory.

This is a travel technician position. You will spend a significant amount of your time traveling to customer sites to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technical and electro‑mechanical equipment. Travel may include overnight assignments, early departures, late returns, changing customer schedules, and overtime based on business and customer needs.

What You’ll Do

Travel to customer sites, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, replace failed parts and assemblies, verify equipment operation after repairs, and complete accurate service documentation.

What We’re Looking For
  • At least 1 year of professional hands‑on field service, equipment repair, electronics, industrial maintenance, automotive diagnostics, or similar technical experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electro‑mechanical equipment to the FRU/component level, including wiring, connectors, boards, modules, sensors, motors, and assemblies.
  • Professional experience using a digital multimeter and other diagnostic/service tools and following technical manuals, diagrams, and service procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle, with the ability to travel up to 80%, including overnight assignments.
  • Flexibility for early departures, late returns, overtime, changing customer schedules, and willingness to complete the required Human Performance Test.
Preferred Experience

Medical, industrial, laboratory, OEM, electronics, automotive, aviation, robotics, mechatronics, military technical, or similar equipment‑service experience is a plus.

This is a hands‑on travel field‑service position. It is not a remote, work‑from‑home, IT help‑desk, or software‑support role.
