Job summary

Wastequip WRX in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking a Service Technician to perform on-site repairs and maintenance for our mobile division. The role includes servicing trucks and heavy equipment, reading schematics, and ensuring vehicle readiness through tests and preventive maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience as a truck or heavy equipment mechanic, welding proficiency, and the ability to lift 50 lbs; willingness to travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience as a truck or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience with repair and troubleshooting street sweepers strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic components.
• Welding experience required and proficient in welding and fabricating.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specs; on-site client work.
• Repair engine failures and mechanical/electrical system faults; replace parts.
• Verify serviceability by test drives and system adjustments; drive to client sites as needed.
• Maintain vehicle records and shop equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Assist with cost containment by evaluating warranty and parts options.
