Job summary

Volm Companies is seeking a Field Service Technician in Idaho Falls, ID, to perform field and in-house service work, install and set up new machines, and ensure customer satisfaction with high-quality, timely service.

Responsibilities include installation, repair, maintenance of electrical and electro-mechanical systems, travel to customer sites in North America, training customers, diagnosing issues, and documenting work while seeking process improvements and cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical standards and practices typically gained via a technical certificate or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
• Experience with material and resource planning systems, spreadsheets, word processing documents, customer management databases, and other applicable computer systems preferred.
• Experience in electro-mechanical principles, systems, and repair preferred.
• Experience building and maintaining strong customer service relationships preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical equipment.
• Travel to customer locations across North America for installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Prepare and test equipment before shipment to ensure proper function.
• Load and unload equipment at Volm and customer facilities.
• Train customers on proper use of equipment sold and serviced by Volm Companies.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using manuals, schematics, and diagnostics tools.
• Provide phone service support on an on-call basis.
• Document installation and service work including reports and time sheets.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
