Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Company, Inc. seeks a field service technician to install, service and repair generators, UPS, switchgear and related systems in Indianapolis.

You will diagnose problems, perform first-time installations, coordinate with other systems, and complete service documentation. The role requires a high school diploma with vocational training, 3–5 years in generator/equipment service, and a valid Class C CDL with forklift capability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge acquired through high school with vocational training in engine/electrical generator service.
• 3-5 years mechanical experience with generators/engines; hydraulics/electrical knowledge preferred.
• Excellent decision-making, problem solving, and diagnostic skills.
• Strong customer communication and ability to meet timelines; able to work overtime/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Installs, services and repairs generators, UPS, switchgear, and related system products.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Complete service paperwork, timesheets, parts charged and serial numbers.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools, meet DOT requirements, and operate CDL field vehicle.
• Provide excellent customer service and coordinate start-ups with other systems.
