Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Service Technician to support emissions surveys and ABB equipment in the US. You will travel up to 75% and operate vehicles with specialized sensors, delivering timely field reports and customer service across multiple regions.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1+ year of field experience, and the ability to obtain Operator Qualified status. You will work hybrid with travel and be part of a dynamic team focused on safe, reliable utility services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of field experience in a customer-facing technical support role required.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and possess a valid passport and driver's license.
• Work authorization to work in the US.
• Experience in the natural gas utility industry is desirable.
• Ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Must pass an evaluation to become Operator Qualified.

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles with sensors to identify emissions across survey areas.
• Use detection data to conduct on-foot surveys, detect emissions, grade findings, and log results.
• Provide coverage across four service regions to balance workload and meet commitments.
• Work with gas utility customers to identify and solve operational issues and communicate timelines.
• Provide expert technical support in diagnosing equipment issues and analyzing data for insights.
• Perform hands-on field service tasks including installations and maintenance of ABB equipment.
• Record findings and create detailed technical reports and documentation.
• Complete field service reports, timesheets, and expense reports promptly.
