Job summary

Forklifts Group – New York is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment including forklifts and terminal tractors at customer sites. You will prioritize work orders, ensure safety and proper documentation, and keep company assets in top condition.

Responsibilities include diagnosing breakdowns, using metalworking tools, performing preventative maintenance, and communicating with customers and dispatchers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a service technician role.
• Previous experience with hydraulics and computer diagnostics; able to interpret schematics.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot customer breakdowns; provide proper repairs to minimize downtime.
• Set up and operate metalworking tools to make/repair parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and replace defective parts; lubricate and repair electrical equipment.
• Inspect used parts to ensure they meet factory specs.
• Review repairs and maintenance with customers; provide on-site quotes and service updates.
• Provide daily status updates to dispatchers and account managers.
