Job summary

OWL Services LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician in Newark, NJ to service and install electronic equipment including security POS and EV charging stations. The role requires mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, on-site problem-solving, and occasional travel up to 40% overnight.

You will rotate on-call with other technicians and must adhere to safety protocols. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with prior POS and alarm experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
• One+ years’ experience in an electrical capacity preferred.
• Ability to work independently and be a strong problem-solver.
• Strong attention to safety and willingness to follow all safety protocols.
• 24/7 on-call rotation with other techs in your area.
• Must be able to travel 30-40% overnight.
• Experience with POS systems (Verifone/NCR) a plus.
• Experience with Alarms a plus.
• Ability to travel and possess travel documents (REAL ID, Passport, etc.).
• Ability to use a computer and smartphone proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, inspects, replaces/repairs a wide variety of electro-mechanical devices such as cash registers, coin changers, security equipment, alarms, and point of sale equipment.
• Manage various EV charger testing requirements such as torque, thermal imagery, insulation (megger) and performance reports.
• Locate system performance issues and fix ground faults.
• Complete service requests and maintenance repair items in a timely manner and ensures all requests are handled professionally.
• Review work orders, manuals, and drawings to perform maintenance and service of equipment.
• Utilize testing devices and various hand and power tools related to the job.
• May be temporarily assigned to other geographical area to provide support with new installations and upgrades.
• Other duties as required.
