Job summary

Tennant Company is seeking a Field Mechanic to service and repair Tennant equipment at customer sites in the United States. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and manage daily routes while communicating service status and future needs to customers.

The role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills, a valid driver’s license, and at least 3 years of hands-on experience with engines and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and meet Tennant Company driving policy requirements.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience: troubleshooting and repairing combustions engines (LP, Diesel, or Gas).
• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
• Using hand and power shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.
• Using a personal computer, MS Office Suite, and email.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems and combustion engine problems on Tennant products and similar models.
• Own your territory; plan daily schedule and contact customers to schedule service activities, communicating expectations, timelines, and billing needs.
• Create and maintain records of all service activities and business reporting documentation.
• Keep Tennant property, vehicles, tools, inventory and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow all safety protocols and utilize proper PPE.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, technical support and other technicians to ensure success.
