Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform hands-on mechanical work at electrical substations and customer sites across the United States.

The role involves inspecting equipment, servicing and repairing components, and supporting transformer testing while traveling up to 85% of the time. Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and at least 2 years of professional work experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 85%.
• Class A CDL is a plus.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and stand, stoop, bend, and walk for extended periods of up to 12 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on mechanical work in electrical substations and at customer sites.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify potential problems, defects, or causes of equipment issues.
• Service, repair, and adjust equipment and components that operate primarily through mechanical principles.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to help determine effective solutions to customer issues.
• Perform physical activities requiring strong dexterity, agility, and attention to safety.
• Use computers and software to configure functions, enter data, and process information related to site activities.
• Operate and maintain Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil-handling equipment under the direction of site leadership, including completing required processing logs.
• Support transformer testing activities and collaborate with field teams to successfully complete customer projects.
