Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Field Service Technician to join the Land Border Integration team in the Buffalo, NY area. The role involves maintaining and repairing border-security infrastructure, including LPR and RFID systems, across routes up to 150 miles from home base. You will work with CBP and SAIC teams, following strict security protocols and safety standards to ensure continuous operation.

Travel up to 25% may be required, with on-call support and documentation duties. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DHS Public Trust clearance.
• Strong technical skills with electronic and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections at Ports of Entry on deployed equipment (LPR, RFID, network/power, signage, communication devices).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions to identify root causes and minimize downtime.
• Install new equipment and systems per SAIC SOPs.
• Coordinate upgrades, replacements, and enhancements with internal teams and vendors.
• Adhere to CBP and SAIC IT/physical/security policies and document maintenance records.
• Comply with OSHA and local safety regulations during tasks.
