Job summary

Ziegler Ag Equipment in Saint Cloud, MN is hiring a Field Service Ag Technician to service a full line of agricultural equipment at the customer site, with a company truck provided.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment from planting to harvest, using hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems, and ensuring safe, high‑quality work. Starting wage ranges from $38–$51 per hour, dependent on skills and location.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field.
• 3+ years of diesel equipment repair experience (preferably field experience).
• Writing and communication skills to interact with supervisors, customers, and team members.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and use diagnostic systems.
• Own mechanic tool set and ability to maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Willingness to respond to after-hour emergencies and maintain a clean driving record.
• Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one; DOT medical card; pass drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair ag equipment at the customer location from planting to harvest.
• Use independent judgment to repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems.
• Work safely and follow company policies and procedures.
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, timely manner to ensure value of work performed.
• Collaborate with other technicians on troubleshooting and repairs.
• Document work orders completely and communicate parts needs for inventory.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 to $51.00

Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location. Along with competitive pay, full time positions are benefits eligible which includes:

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair ag equipment from application, tillage, planting to harvest equipment at the customer’s location
• Uses a high degree of independent judgment to repair a variety of complex equipment and tools, which involve mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Responds to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction; identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• 3+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably some field experience
• Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus
• Ability to write and communicate effectively, interact with supervisors, customers, and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment including service truck
• Willing and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by the supervisor
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record
• Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period
• Obtain a DOT medical certification card
• Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physical due to this role being deemed safety sensitive position
• Able to operate equipment safely

• Lift bulky objects
• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.
• Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
