Job summary

Ziegler Ag Equipment is seeking a Field Service Ag Technician to diagnose and repair agricultural equipment at customer sites across our St Cloud region. The role covers planting to harvest equipment, with a company truck provided.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of diesel repair experience, a relevant technical degree or equivalent, and the ability to work safely with diverse systems. CDL-A and DOT certification are preferred; after-hours calls may be required.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or high school diploma/GED with 2 years of mechanic experience.
• 3+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably field experience.
• Ability to write and communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair ag equipment from application to harvest at the customer’s location.
• Repair a variety of mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel and electrical systems with independence.
• Work safely and follow company policies; document work orders timely.
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, timely manner and assist other technicians as needed.
• Collaborate on troubleshooting repairs and communicate parts needs for inventory.

Field Service Ag Technician

Ziegler Ag Equipment has a Field Service Ag Technician position open to work on the full line of Ag equipment from planting to harvest equipment to support customers surrounding our St Cloud branch. A company truck is provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 to $51.00. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair ag equipment from application, tillage, planting to harvest equipment at the customer’s location
• Uses a high degree of independent judgment to repair a variety of complex equipment and tools, which involve mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Responds to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction; identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or high school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• 3+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably some field experience
• Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus
• Ability to write and communicate effectively, interact with supervisors, customers, and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment including service truck
• Willing and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by the supervisor
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record
• Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period
• Obtain a DOT medical certification card
• Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physical due to this role being deemed safety sensitive position
• Able to operate equipment safely
