Job summary

Herc Rentals in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to lead on-site maintenance of HVAC, pump and power equipment. You will diagnose, repair and service equipment on customer sites with minimal supervision, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, ability to read schematics, and excellent communication with customers. On-call availability and a valid driver's license are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, hydraulics, pumps.
• Ability to read detailed schematics, owner manuals, and product warning labels.
• Ownership of sufficient hand and power tools for repairs.
• On-call availability and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc-owned fleet at long term customer sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery replacements.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment on site.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Return equipment to safe working condition and document repairs.
