Job summary

Herc Rentals in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to lead on-site fleet maintenance. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy equipment, and service fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and propane systems at customer job sites.

This role requires a high school diploma, the ability to operate boom lifts and generators, and owning your own basic hand and power tools. You will work independently, on-call as needed, document repairs in logs, and uphold safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate and test equipment (boom lifts, forklifts, generators, hydraulics, pumps).
• Own a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a schedule of preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at long-term customer job sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and related services.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition at the job site.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Return equipment to safe operating condition and document repairs logs.
• Educate customers on proper use of equipment to avoid breakdowns.
• Adhere to safety guidelines at active job sites and maintain a clean, organized work area.
