Job summary

ANDRITZ Schuler Incorporated, headquartered in Canton, Michigan, seeks a field service technician to assist customers with on-site trouble-shooting and repair of Schuler equipment and to assist with assembly and startup of new presses. You will train customers, read drawings, and respond to service needs across North America.

The role requires mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical skills, willingness to travel, and the ability to document field activities and quotes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
• Journeyman card and related experience required (2–5 years).
• Willingness to travel in US, Canada and Mexico (100% travel).
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and schematics; basic maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair or assemble Schuler products and equipment and related assemblies.
• Perform mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic assembly and test functions.
• Read prints, drawings and schematics and perform basic calculations.
• Develop knowledge of Schuler standards and service manuals.
• Submit field reports and documents to Field Operations Manager timely.
• Provide customer training and support and identify upgrade opportunities.
• Produce service reports and assist in quotes for service and parts.
• Maintain safety, quality, and cost-control standards on site.
• Be available for service support on a 24-hour basis including holidays and weekends.
