Job summary

Andritz is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to perform mechanical repair, installation verification, startup, and training of Andritz equipment at customer sites and in-house. You will read blueprints, fabricate welded components, and coordinate with customers to deliver safe, high-quality service.

This role requires MIG/TIG/Stick welding, fabrication of structural components, and positive teamwork.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical service, equipment installation verification, checkout, startup, troubleshooting, repair, welding, and fabrication on Andritz-supplied equipment at customer facilities and in-house.
• Fabricate, modify, repair, and rebuild structural steel and mechanical components using approved welding methods (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core).
• Inspect, fit, align, assemble, and repair components by reading blueprints and weld symbols.
• Coordinate field service and repair activities with technical personnel and customers for safe, efficient execution.
• Perform field welding, maintenance, and emergency repairs during installations, outages, startups, and service calls.
• Ensure work meets company, customer, quality, and safety standards including PPE and hot work rules.
• Maintain welding and fabrication equipment and keep work areas organized.
• Prepare service reports, repair documentation, and supporting records for project tracking and billing.
• Assist with spare parts suggestions, technical support, inventory planning, and repair services.
• Support training and development of service technicians.
• Travel as required, up to 85% annually.
