Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators. The role involves hands-on electrical work, problem solving, and delivering excellent customer service while supporting clean energy adoption.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of electrical experience, valid driver’s license, and knowledge of NEC/AHJ requirements.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
4+ years of electrical experience.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
State electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments
Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment
Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements
Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed
Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations
Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites

Otovo is seeking a skilled and dependable Field Service Technician to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you'll service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators.

This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands‑on technical work, solving complex problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities
