Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators in the New York area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Strong understanding of NEC, AHJ, and interconnection requirements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.
• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC/AHJ/utility compliance.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty repairs as needed.
• Communicate with homeowners/customers regarding system status and recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong communication and customer service skills
