Job Description

JOB FUNCTION:

This position ensures the purity of the water processed for MPW Industrial Water customers at various project sites. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for providing on-site technical customer service, including chemical tests, chemical feed and control equipment maintenance, chemical inventory management, technical recommendations, and written service reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Travel up to 75% of the time to various project sites and maintain MPW Water Purification Equipment.
2. Support multiple locations as needed.
3. Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines, including proper housekeeping.
4. Work closely with customers daily to troubleshoot and repair system operational problems and make corrections when appropriate.
5. Track the performance of equipment at various project sites via daily logs.
6. Perform labor at project sites, including hose and pipe assembly, chemical drum handling, chemical transfer, filter backwashes, filter media replacement, pump maintenance, membrane cleaning, and replacement.
7. Use monitoring equipment to test water quality and ensure standards are met.
8. Calibrate monitoring equipment.
9. Perform water analysis and/or collect samples for preparation, labeling, and shipment to laboratories.
10. Complete PC-based reports on site conditions, test results, corrections, and deficiencies.
11. Work with PLC controls; repair pumps, instruments, and control panels.
12. Interface with customers to ensure satisfaction, acting as a technical consultant and liaison with customer management and technical staff.
13. Maintain inventory of spare parts, reagents, sample containers, and shipment supplies for routine and special sampling and analysis.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Communicate daily with the Regional Field Service Manager.
2. Assist at regeneration facilities when necessary.
3. Travel up to 75% and work overtime as required.
4. Work independently and self-manage.
5. Track, manage, and report mileage and expenses.
6. Work overnight, weekends, and holidays as needed.
