Job summary

Acorn Stairlifts is seeking Field Service Technicians in Minneapolis to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain stairlift systems in customers' homes. You will perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections while delivering high-quality workmanship and professional service.

The role emphasizes independent field work, strong problem-solving, and the ability to manage schedules and documentation via company devices.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude (hands-on field).
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service for residential homes.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Ability to manage daily workloads, prioritize service calls, and work independently.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

What You'll Do

Technical & Service Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain Acorn stairlift systems in customers' homes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and annual safety inspections while ensuring high-quality, reliable workmanship.

Customer & Field Operations

• Provide professional customer service by explaining repairs, equipment operation, and maintenance recommendations.
• Work independently throughout an assigned territory while managing schedules, work orders, documentation, and communication using a company-provided mobile device.

Vehicle, Inventory & Safety

• Maintain an organized company vehicle and accurately manage parts inventory to ensure supplies are available when needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment while representing Acorn Stairlifts with professionalism and integrity.

What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude, with experience in field service, automotive repair, HVAC, appliance repair, maintenance, construction, or other technical trades preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to work comfortably in residential homes.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
