Job summary

Acorn Stairlifts, Inc. in Taunton, MA is seeking dependable Field Service Technicians who enjoy solving problems, work independently, and deliver superior customer service.

You will diagnose, install, repair, and maintain stairlift systems in customers’ homes with training provided. You’ll travel within an assigned territory, manage schedules and documentation on a company mobile device, maintain a clean vehicle, and participate in paid training, with company-provided tools and overtime

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude as shown by hands-on field work.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain Acorn stairlift systems in customers’ homes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections with high-quality workmanship.
• Explain repairs and maintenance recommendations to customers and manage documentation.
• Work independently within an assigned territory, handling schedules, work orders, and use of a company mobile device.

What You'll Do

Technical & Service Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain Acorn stairlift systems in customers’ homes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and annual safety inspections while ensuring high-quality, reliable workmanship.

Customer & Field Operations

• Provide professional customer service by explaining repairs, equipment operation, and maintenance recommendations.
• Work independently throughout an assigned territory while managing schedules, work orders, documentation, and communication using a company-provided mobile device.

Vehicle, Inventory & Safety

• Maintain an organized company vehicle and accurately manage parts inventory to ensure supplies are available when needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment while representing Acorn Stairlifts with professionalism and integrity.

What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude, with experience in field service, automotive repair, HVAC, appliance repair, maintenance, construction, or other technical trades preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to work comfortably in residential homes.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Ability to manage daily workloads, prioritize multiple service calls, and work independently.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
