Job summary

Acorn Stairlifts, Inc. is seeking dependable Field Service Technicians to diagnose, install, repair and maintain stairlift systems in customers’ homes in the Houston area. You’ll work independently, manage schedules, and deliver professional service.

We provide hands-on training, a company vehicle, a gas card, tools, and ongoing development. You’ll contribute to customer safety and independence, with competitive pay, paid time off, holidays, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Experience in field service or hands-on trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain Acorn stairlift systems in customers’ homes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and annual safety inspections.

What You’ll Do

Technical & Service Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain Acorn stairlift systems in customers’ homes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and annual safety inspections while ensuring high-quality, reliable workmanship.

Customer & Field Operations

• Provide professional customer service by explaining repairs, equipment operation, and maintenance recommendations.
• Work independently throughout an assigned territory while managing schedules, work orders, documentation, and communication using a company-provided mobile device.

Vehicle, Inventory & Safety

• Maintain an organized company vehicle and accurately manage parts inventory to ensure supplies are available when needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment while representing Acorn Stairlifts with professionalism and integrity.

What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude, with experience in field service, automotive repair, HVAC, appliance repair, maintenance, construction, or other technical trades preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to work comfortably in residential homes.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Ability to manage daily workloads, prioritize multiple service calls, and work independently.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
