Quantum Design Inc. is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and support industrial machinery at customer facilities across North America.

This role requires travel and independent problem-solving with hands-on technical work. The position emphasizes working with advanced machinery, collaborating with customers and internal teams, and providing comprehensive service reports.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical service or industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, pneumatics, and industrial controls.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively (80–100%).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls professionally.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites for machine installation, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Train customer personnel on machine operation and maintenance.
• Provide technical support by phone and email.
• Complete service reports and documentation.
• Assist with machine testing and production support when in-house.
• Work closely with customers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve technical issues.
