Job summary

ZEISS Group in Allentown/Harrisburg area seeks a Field Service Technician to install, service and calibrate advanced measuring instruments at customer sites. The role includes a comprehensive training program followed by extensive regional travel (70-90%) to diverse clients.

The ideal candidate has a technical background (electronics/industrial mechanics), tools experience, and a valid Driver's License. ZEISS offers a solid benefits package, bonus opportunities, and a clear path for growth

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED; additional technical training accepted.
• Technical discipline such as Electronics or Industrial Mechanics is preferred.
• Valid Driver License required; ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Complete a ~3 month field and classroom training program.
• Travel to customer sites to install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate CMMs.
• Learn new skills on high tech CMMs using mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Work independently while representing ZEISS in a fast-paced environment.

Location/Region:

Position requires you to live within the Allentown, PA and surrounding area.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Engage in a comprehensive ~3 month in field and classroom training program to ensure you have the skills and tools to be successful.
• Once trained, you will travel to customer sites in your region to Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate the most advanced measuring instruments in the world.
• Work hands on to learn new skills on high tech CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Work independently while representing the company in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
• Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.
• Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
• Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
• Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT.
• Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
• Valid Driver License required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
• Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.

• Competitive Base Pay offered
• OT: Average OT is 10 hours a week and paid out at time and half - we basically pay for your travel time!
• Annual bonus program: - eligible for an additional bonus at the end of the year.
• Company vehicle - can use it for personal use as well!
