Job summary

ZEISS Group in the Warsaw, IN area is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate state-of-the-art measuring instruments at customer sites.

You will complete a 3-month in-field and classroom training, then travel predominantly within your region (70–90%), carrying out hands-on work on high-tech CMMs, documenting service work and maintaining records while representing ZEISS.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or technical degree in electronics or industrial mechanics.
  • Experience with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
  • Microsoft Windows operating systems knowledge.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds and work 50+ hours per week.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate CMMs.
  • Complete in-field training and travel predominantly within your region (70–90%).
  • Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
  • Work independently representing ZEISS in a fast-paced environment.

Location/Region:

Position will work in Warsaw, IN and surrounding area.

Here’s What You’ll Do
  • Engage in a comprehensive ~3 month in field and classroom training program to ensure you have the skills and tools to be successful.
  • Once trained, you will travel to customer sites in your region to Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate the most advanced measuring instruments in the world.
  • Work hands on to learn new skills on high tech CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.
  • Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
  • Work independently while representing the company in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

What We Are Looking For
  • Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
  • Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.
  • Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
  • Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
  • Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
  • Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT.
  • Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
  • Valid Driver License required.
Nice To Haves
  • Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
  • Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.

Variables Include
  • Competitive base salary
  • OT: Average OT is 10 hours a week and paid out at time and half - we basically pay for your travel time!
  • Annual bonus program: - eligible for an additional bonus at the end of the year.
  • Company vehicle - can use it for personal use as well!

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
