Job summary

ZEISS Group is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Massachusetts. After a comprehensive ~3 month training, you will travel to customer sites to install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate advanced measuring instruments such as CMMs.

You will document work and maintain records while representing ZEISS in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus tech school or higher in a technical discipline, and

Qualifications

• Must have worked with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• CMM knowledge or installation experience is a plus.
• Strong Windows operating system familiarity required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites in the region to install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate high-precision instruments.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Work independently while representing ZEISS in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage in field and classroom training for the first ~3 months.

Location/Region

Position will work in Billerica, MA and surrounding area.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Engage in a comprehensive ~3 month in field and classroom training program to ensure you have the skills and tools to be successful.
• Once trained, you will travel to customer sites in your region to Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate the most advanced measuring instruments in the world.
• Work hands on to learn new skills on high tech CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Document service work and maintain accurate service records.
• Work independently while representing the company in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
• Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.
• Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
• Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
• Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT.
• Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
• Valid Driver License required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
• Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.

Variables Include

• Base pay ranged from $53,000 - $66,000 ($25.48/hr - $31.73/hr)
• OT: Average OT is 10 hours a week and paid out at time and half - we basically pay for your travel time!
• Annual bonus program: - eligible for an additional bonus at the end of the year.
• Company vehicle - can use it for personal use as well!

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
