Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment or related diesel-powered machinery.
• Must have a valid driver's license with clean record.
• Must provide and maintain professional mechanic's hand tools; specialty tools provided by SEI.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment in the field and at SEI facilities.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, powertrain, and electronic controls.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and warranty repairs.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure peak performance and customer satisfaction.
• Respond to emergency service calls to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulics schematics, and bulletins.

Field Service Technician (Construction Equipment)

SEI is looking for a skilled Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and commission heavy construction equipment at customer job sites near Harrisburg facility. Requirements

As a Field Service Technician, you'll be the trusted expert our customers rely on to keep their equipment operating safely and efficiently.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment in the field and at SEI facilities.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, powertrain components, and electronic controls.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and warranty repairs.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure peak performance and customer satisfaction.
• Respond to emergency service calls to minimize customer downtime.
• Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical bulletins.
• Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Operate and maintain a company service truck, tools, and parts inventory.
• Accurately complete work orders, service reports, inspection forms, and warranty documentation.
• Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status professionally with customers.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment, paving equipment, road maintenance equipment, or other diesel-powered machinery.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must provide and maintain a personal set of professional mechanic's hand tools required to perform the essential functions of the position. Specialty tools, diagnostic equipment, and company-specific tooling are provided by Stephenson Equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical degree or certification in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or a related field.
• Experience servicing construction, paving, or road maintenance equipment.
• CDL (preferred but not required).

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Lift up to 75 pounds frequently.
• Stand, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in confined spaces.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
