Job summary

Stephenson Equipment, Inc. (SEI) is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and commission heavy construction equipment at customer sites near Williamsport.

You’ll work independently with customers, use advanced diagnostic tools, and be supported by a skilled service team to keep equipment running safely and productively. A minimum of 5 years of related repair experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment, cranes, paving equipment, road maintenance equipment, or other diesel-powered machinery.
• Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must provide and maintain a personal set of professional mechanic’s hand tools; specialty tools and company tooling provided by Stephenson Equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment in the field and at SEI facilities.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, powertrain components, and electronic controls.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and warranty repairs.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure peak performance and customer satisfaction.
• Respond to emergency service calls to minimize customer downtime.
• Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical bulletins.
• Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Operate and maintain a company service truck, tools, and parts inventory.
• Accurately complete work orders, service reports, inspection forms, and warranty documentation.
• Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status professionally with customers.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
