Job description

Field Service Technicians play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Servicing Instrumentation: Ensuring sensors and measuring devices function accurately.
• Control Valves: Maintaining valves that regulate flow and pressure within the system.
• Motors/VFDs: Working with electric motors and Variable Frequency Drives to manage speed and torque.
• Control System Electrical Design: Assisting in the design and layout of electrical components for control systems.
• PLC and DCS Configuration: Configuring Programmable Logic Controllers and Distributed Control Systems to ensure efficient operation.

Job Qualifications

• Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• PLC troubleshooting and configuration
• Perform I/O checkout on the installed control system and document the checkout results.
• Provide post-commissioning support to the client’s operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel
• Travel to the client’s site as required, with significant travel involved
• The ability to provide after-hours telephone support on a rotating schedule

Required Experience

• Degreed in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar), Computer Science, or similar scientific / technical field

Ideal Experience

• Co-op or intern experience in an Industrial environment
• Familiarity and/or coursework with basic AC and DC electric circuits
• Familiarity and/or coursework with computer programming concepts
