Job summary

Ripple Fiber is hiring a Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair Ripple Fiber equipment at customer sites in the WNC market. The role emphasizes delivering top-tier customer service while ensuring reliable home and business networks.

You will handle last mile network tasks, troubleshoot faults, document network changes, and assist with escalations. The job requires physical work and flexibility for after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience in customer service, construction, electrical, technical or related field is a plus.
• Lift and move up to 60 lbs., work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, overtime and be available for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Managing all last mile and access equipment for in-home and business networks.
• Fault finding to resolve complaints and monitor network performance.
• Create and maintain network documentation and use monitoring tools to troubleshoot areas.
• Assist with escalations to 2nd line support and configure/bootstrap broadband services (Wi‑Fi routers, smart home devices).
• Route fiber optic drops from termination box to router location and connect home devices to Ripple Fiber network.

Field Service Technicians are also responsible for ensuring that customers receive the highest level of customer service.Responsibilities:Managing all last mile (Drop and in home and business networks) and the Access and in home and or business equipment.Fault Finding to resolve complaints.Create and maintain network documentation.Using monitoring network performance tools to troubleshoot problem areas.Assist with escalations (2nd Line support) to resolve end user issues.Configuring maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing Broadband services such as Wi-Fi Routers and smart home devices.Routing of a Fiber Optic drop cable from a termination box to a router’s location.In-Home and business network to connect clients.Assist customers in connecting their home devices to the Ripple Fiber network.Qualifications:Skills RequiredMust have a valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.Ability to operate hand tools and handheld mobile devices.Experience working in customer service, construction, electrical, technical or related field is a plus.Clean driving record.Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.Identify wire and cable colors.Qualify on pre-employment assessments.Be available for overtime, emergency call outs and holiday work.Physical DemandsLift and move up-to 60 lbs. – some of our ladders weigh 50-60 lbs.At times work in small spaces or lofts (up to 28 ft.).Must meet ladder safety weight requirements (maximum 275 lbs. including gear) in accordance with OSHA standards.We offer competitive pay, comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) with company match, and a supportive work environment where innovation and teamwork thrive.
