Field Service Technician | Ripple Fiber

Job Location: Greenville Office - Greenville, SC 29615.

About the role

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Ripple Fiber equipment in accordance with customer requirements and company standards. Field Service Technicians are also responsible for ensuring that customers receive the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Managing all last mile (Drop and in-home and business networks) and the Access equipment.
  • Fault finding to resolve complaints.
  • Create and maintain network documentation.
  • Use monitoring network performance tools to troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Assist with escalations (2nd Line support) to resolve end‑user issues.
  • Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and install broadband services such as Wi‑Fi routers and smart home devices.
  • Route a fiber optic drop cable from a termination box to a router’s location.
  • Connect clients to in‑home and business networks.
  • Assist customers in connecting their home devices to the Ripple Fiber network.
Qualifications
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and handheld mobile devices.
  • Experience working in customer service, construction, electrical, technical or related fields is a plus.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Identify wire and cable colors.
  • Qualify on pre‑employment assessments.
  • Be available for overtime, emergency call‑outs and holiday work.
Physical Demands
  • Lift and move up to 60 lbs. – some ladders weigh 50‑60 lbs.
  • Work in small spaces or lofts (up to 28 ft.).
  • Meet ladder safety weight requirements (maximum 275 lbs. including gear) in accordance with OSHA standards.
