Job summary

Flowserve is seeking a Mechanical Field Service Technician to repair and install equipment at customer sites, oversee start-up, perform maintenance, and monitor product performance. You will manage the tool truck for on-site support, travel as needed, and train customers on proper operating procedures.

Responsibilities include disassembly, inspection, and assembly, with emphasis on seals and pump components, while maintaining thorough records and upholding Flowserve values in safety and quality.

Role Summary:The Mechanical Field Service Technician will repair and install equipment, oversee start-up, conduct maintenance, and monitor the performance of our products at our customers’ locations. Flowserve counts on Field Service Techs to be an indispensable resource to our customers, creating a lasting competitive advantage for our products and services. This position will maintain and operate a Company tool truck for customer support for onsite repairs.Responsibilities and RequirementsMake direct, in-person service calls in response to customer requests.Assess mechanical problems and take actions to resolve promptlyWork side-by-side with our customer’s personnel, and lead work crews as required. Oversee the full cycle of repair: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly, installing mechanical seals, changing seal faces/gaskets/O rings.Able to travel, including globally, for extended periods of time if needed.Check equipment prior to start-up and assess start-up performanceTrain customers in the proper procedures for operating and maintaining Flowserve productsCollaborate effectively with the supporting organizations of Flowserve, including the repair centers, customer service, and sales engineeringMaintain organized, accurate, timely records, including daily reports, jobs quoted, jobs performed, and time and materials charged Communicate by word and actions Flowserve’s values for ethics, safety, and quality.QualificationsSkilled in the repair of Flowserve’s large, high-end, single-stage and multi-stage pumps; laser alignment, rigging, and pump seals.Experienced in removing and installing pump bases (epoxy grout, including pressure grout)Excellent ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematicsMust be able to travel 70% of the time with frequent overnight stays requiredPhysical activity is required, including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, ascending/descending ladders and staircases, and climbing and reaching in, under, and around large equipment, often outside year-round.Preferred Experience/SkillsFive or more years of experience in mechanical field of service, specifically repairing pumpsMust have an active clean driver’s license with a good driving record to pass a DOT physical, will drive company tool trucks.High School diploma or GED equivalent.Capable in Outlook, Word, and ExcelWhat We Can Offer You At Flowserve, you'll find a range of options to fit your, and your family's, needs.
