Job summary

ProMach is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, commission, repair, and maintain automated machinery at customer sites across the Midwest and beyond. You’ll work on electrical and mechanical systems, troubleshoot to meet contracted efficiency, and train operators.

Travel up to 75% domestically and internationally with some work at our Deer Park, NY facility; strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork are essential; a technical background and passport are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Field Service Technician or similar with machine startup/repair.
• High School Diploma required; related technical degree preferred.
• Strong mechanical/electrical repair skills; able to read drawings and wiring schematics.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally; passport required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, repair, and maintain Modern Packaging automated machinery at customer sites, including electrical and mechanical work
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to achieve contracted efficiency rates, perform audits, install upgrades, and deliver follow-up operator training
• Document all service activities (installations, commissioning, repairs, and upgrades) in detailed site reports
• Support customers by recommending machine upgrades, retrofits, and spare parts that improve safety, performance, reliability, and inventory management
• Train customer personnel during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities
• While not traveling, support the Modern facility in Deer Park, NY by assembling and testing new machines and participating in customer Factory Acceptance Tests
• Maintain flexibility to adapt to diverse work environments and resolve issues quickly

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $28.00 – 37.00 an hour

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Field Service Technician (or similar) with 3+ years of machine startup, repair, and maintenance on medium to large-scale industrial equipment
• High School Diploma required; Associate‘s Degree in a related technical field (mechanical or electrical) preferred
• Strong technical skills, including mechanical repair, ability to read part/assembly drawings and wiring schematics, and familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and servo controllers (preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong organizational, time management, and problem‑solving skills to manage schedules, paperwork, and technical issues effectively
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly, train customer personnel, and work well with all levels of operators and management
• Self‑motivated and adaptable, able to work independently while maintaining a positive, professional attitude
• Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally (passport required; occasional trips to Mexico and Canada)
