Job summary

Matrix Packaging Machinery is looking for a Field Service Technician to support installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging equipment across the US with extensive travel. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and train customer personnel on operation and service of our machinery.

Travel‑heavy role requiring strong customer service, communication skills, and willingness to travel internationally from time to time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in machinery repair.
• Willingness to travel 75%+ of the time.
• PLC programming experience preferred.
• Technical Associate degree or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

Matrix Packaging Machinery is seeking a talented Field Service Technician. You’ll support the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging equipment. You’ll solve mechanical and electrical challenges for customers with your strong troubleshooting and customer service skills. Does this work interest you? Installation, integration, repair and troubleshoot flexible machinery of a complex design requiring a high level of technical skill/knowledge and independent problem-solving skills. Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality and operating specifications are met. Directs and or oversees customer’s personnel during plant machinery installations and integrations or servicing (repair and/or troubleshooting). May provide on-site customizing of machine programs by revising programs to meet the customer needs. Occasionally maintain a 24-hour on-call status and provide customer technical telephone support. Will provide factory floor support when not providing customer field service support/travel. Provide customer training regarding the operation & service of our machinery. Assist customers with aftermarket parts needs will in the field.

Successful candidate must possess knowledge/skills of mechanical and electrical principles and be willing to travel extensively within the US and, from time to time, internationally. Good communication & interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus. Familiarity with PLC/PC systems helpful. Proficiency in Windows & MS software (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent customer service skills; ability to train customer personnel on equipment. Prefer experience in flexible packaging material machinery. Minimum of 1 year experience in machinery repair. PLC programming experience preferred. Technical Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Willingness to travel a minimum of 75%.

Salary Range:

$37.00 - $50.00 per hour.
